What are the grants?

There are five separate reimbursable grant programs, each serving different needs. The chart below breaks down the different opportunities.

What types of grants are available?

The reimbursable grants range from small, narrowly targeted programs to large, big-picture ones. The chart below shows the maximum award amounts for each grant program. Each reimbursable grants program requires a 25-percent match. Higher education institution matches can be cash and/or in-kind, but all other matches must be made in cash.

Who is eligible?

The SEGA grant program is currently closed. Missouri-based farmers, businesses and higher education institutions were eligible to apply during the application window. Grant program guidelines from the application window are available below for review.

Where can I get more information?

The Missouri Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority (MASBDA) is administering the reimbursable grants programs. Contact MASBDA for questions about grant details by email at masbda@mda.mo.gov or by phone at (573) 751-2129.

The Missouri Agriculture, Food and Forestry Innovation Center (MAFFIC) provides no-cost technical assistance for value-added agricultural producers. MAFFIC cannot write grants for producers applying to the SEGA programs, but we may be able to assist producers think through their business expansion ideas. This assistance is available on a first-come first-serve basis.
